Rootwork: Triumph Over Trauma
I'll be giving additional Author Talks to close out the year in Detroit and Las Vegas. Stay tuned for dates. Join me for a Free Literary Community Event!
I utilize Holistic Creative ARTS to raise awareness around mental health and to help break generational cycles of dysfunction, Honest reflection and self-expression have been sage for my spirit. Poetry, Personal Essays, and Short-stories have offered Trauma Release on my healing journey.
I remain a Queer Black Womanist with a story to tell. I describe my work as raw, honest, humorous, angry, and full of Detroit Herstory. This project is supported in part by the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. This event is purposed for survivors of sexual assault, service providers, and those who haven't experienced creative arts in a while. Youth survivors are welcome to attend with an adult. Attending an event of this type would have made a world of difference to my 12- year old survivor self. That's real talk.
